Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Welcome to Greeley Elementary School, where we believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. As the principal, it is my pleasure to extend a warm greeting to both new and returning families.

At Greeley, we take pride in offering three distinct programs designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of our student body.

Firstly, we have our neighborhood program, which welcomes students from our attendance boundary area. Families residing within this boundary can enroll their children at any time throughout the year.

Secondly, we offer a unique opportunity through our World Language Magnet Cluster. This program is open to students citywide, providing an immersive language experience. Interested families must apply through GoCPS by December for admission on a rolling basis.

Thirdly, our EL Regional Gifted Center provides an enriching educational experience for academically talented students. Admission to this program is based on testing conducted in the spring for the following fall.

Greeley is nestled in the vibrant Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, just a stone’s throw away from Lake Michigan and the iconic Wrigley Field. While we do not currently offer bussing services, we have students who commute from various parts of the city to attend our school.

One of the hallmarks of our curriculum is our commitment to language education. All students receive Spanish instruction for at least three hours per week, fostering both linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness.

We celebrate diversity year-round, embracing the richness of our students’ cultural backgrounds. Through innovative teaching strategies like Kagan Cooperative Learning, our dedicated educators ensure that every student is engaged and supported at their individual level.

Equipped with 1:1 technology and a wide array of enrichment activities, we strive to provide a well-rounded educational experience for all students. Our before and after-school programs, as well as our summer programming, offer additional opportunities for growth and exploration.

Throughout the year, we host a variety of performances and events that are open to the public, providing a glimpse into the vibrant community here at Greeley.

For more information or to schedule a tour, please feel free to reach out to Cindy Guzman, our Gifted Coordinator, at [email protected].

We look forward to embarking on this educational journey with you and your child. Together, let’s cultivate a love for learning and a sense of belonging here at Greeley.

Warm regards,
